Welcome! My name is Sam, the creator of Beautifully Balanced. I offer a range of online Yoga & Zumba classes via Zoom or my On-Demand Video Library.


You can find holistic discussions on The Beautifully Balanced Podcast, also available on Apple & Google Podcasts, also on Spotify. Holistic Ayurvedic massage treatments are also coming in Autumn 2020!

In 2015 one of the best things ever happened to me! I got the help I needed! After losing my voice several times in recent years, I met with a speech and language therapist (SLT) and it turned out the root cause of losing my voice wasn't a physical problem, the main cause was emotional.


After taking some time to get my head around this idea, I self-referred to a mental health service that diagnosed me with severe anxiety and depression. I started a plan of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which challenged a lot of my habits and thinking ways for the better. It was life changing!  

After my therapy and a move half way across the world to Japan, I started a regular yoga practice as recommended by my SLT and I've never looked back!


Within 12 months my IBS symptoms were no longer a problem and I'd stopped taking my migraine tablets, I hadn't lost my voice, my anxiety condition was more manageable and I had significantly more energy - I hadn't felt this good in years! This was a huge turning point and I still have to pinch myself to believe how different my life is now! 



I enjoyed going to Zumba classes even through some of my most difficult times, they were always a good pick me up once I'd got there! Focusing on the routines and the awesome music, gives me a chance to switch off from the everyday mind-chatter, whilst moving my body and having a bit of fun! I became a certified Zumba instructor back in 2014 and I still love it today! 

I couldn't imagine a life without Yoga! Yoga has significantly increased my body and mind awareness, enabling me to manage aches and pains and improve my sleep patterns. It gives me confidence as I feel my strength and courage improve and gives me some space to focus on myself and go inside. It helps me to calm my thoughts and anxious energy and live more in the present moment (rather than in my head)! After feeling the many benefits, it soon became a part of my daily life - going to classes and doing self-practice at home, whilst applying what I learn on the mat to aid everyday life.

Meditation is a branch of yoga and taking the time to practice focusing my mind and starting to observe my thoughts lets me mentally step away from them and feel calmer and find clarity. I practice it in queues, traffic and setting some time aside at home to give me a boost rather than feeling drained. 

In February 2017, I completed an awesome one month yoga transformation in Goa, India and gained my 200 hour yoga teacher certification. I have been teaching and sharing my passion for yoga ever since! In May 2019 I completed my amazing 300 hour Elemental Yoga Yin/ Yang Certification in Dharamshala, India. Yoga & Zumba balance each other beautifully. Both offering something different but both leave the body and mind feeling SOO good!




I am by no means a councilor, nutritionist or a trained healthcare professional. My background is in business and teaching, having worked for the NHS, Toyota and leading colleges in Derby. I am not someone who lives a life of complete bliss and harmony. What I am is a woman living in the real world, learning to live a happy, authentic lifestyle.


Through Beautifully Balanced, I hope to share with you my best strategies that I personally use; either through my podcast, on the mat or learning to feel free in a Zumba class! I truly hope that they will be of some benefit to you.
