Cat - Cow, is a beautiful pose to gently stimulate the spine and the belly organs; often used in a warm-up. It's in almost every yoga class I have ever been to!

The benefits

  • Relaxing and easy to link breath

  • Stretches the back (cat) and abdominal (cow) muscles

  • Gently wakes up the neck

Top tip

Push hands firmly into the ground to avoid collapsing at the shoulders

Cues are provided to ensure the correct 'table top' position is gained before starting this movement
