I LOVE this pose. It's perfect to do alone, at the start of a yoga practice or for relaxation during practice.
Personally, I enjoy closing my eyes and focusing on the spot between my eyebrows (the third eye), helping me to focus my mind and go inside.
The benefits
Relaxing; relieving stress
Releases tension in the back, neck & shoulders
Stretches ankles, thighs, hips and spine
Tip
Press sit bones towards the heels, whilst trying to lengthen the spine all the way to the head, whilst relaxing the neck.
In class
I love to strategically place my hands across clients' back to help deepen the pose and its benefits.
Caution
Knee injury
Pregnancy
Diarrhea
